Target Audience: Administrators, Teachers, Therapists, and caregivers of students with Autism and/or Anxiety Disorder. With up to one in four children struggling with anxiety in this country, overwhelmed adults need a new approach as well as an effective and easy-to-implement toolkit of strategies that work. Dr. Joshua Sappenfield presented “Implementation Case Studies: Successful PSH Pilots” as part of a panel at the 2017 American Society of Anesthesiology’s 2017 Spring Perioperative Surgical Home Learning Collaborative. The Perioperative Surgical Home (PSH) is a patient-centered, physician-led system of coordinated care that guides patients through the entire surgical experience. Under Dr. Sappenfield’s leadership we continue to make improvements in communication, glucose control, and service-specific initiatives with Urology and Orthopaedics.
DPT students traveled to Orlando this past weekend to work with the Special Olympics Florida athletes! This was a two day event where student physical therapists and student physical therapy assistants screened athletes for balance, strength, endurance, and flexibility impairments. Students screened over 500 athletes over the course of the two day event. Way to go!
